Every year, UHN uses almost 50 million sheets of paper – that’s equivalent to over 15,000 trees.

In 2009, UHN recycled 1,495 tonnes of waste for a 41% diversion rate.

UHN’s uses around 80 million “things” each year.

UHN spends around $20 million on utilities each year.  However, through it’s TLC – Care to Conserve energy management program, it’s estimated that good “lights off” habits could save the hospital around $1 million annually.
