The Neuropsychiatry Program treats people with problems related to thinking or mood that are a result of brain injury or neurological dysfunction. In other words it is the assessment and treatment of the cognitive, behavioral, and mood symptoms of patients with neurological disorders. These problems can manifest as sleep problems, movement disorders such as Parkinson's, epilepsy, dementia, Tourette's, or Alzheimer's.

Neuropsychiatric evaluations often involve assessments of higher thinking functions using neuropsychological tests, rating scales and physiological measures of brain activity such as the electroencephalograph or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
