Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic works together with clients to help improve their activity level and prevent or minimize further hospitalizations. Our staff includes a respiratory care practitioner, a registered nurse, a registered dietitian, a respirologist and a social worker. Patients with stable respiratory diseases, either obstructive or restrictive, who experience disabling exertional dyspnea (difficulty breathing on exertion) will benefit from this program.
Patients are referred to the clinic for a 12-week program.
Our services:
- Ongoing team assessment to determine client needs
- Individualized program of education/training, counselling, exercise and follow up (based on needs assessment)
- Assisting patients in identifying symptoms of a worsening condition, promoting positive lifestyle changes and creating independence in ADL
- Individualized sessions are available for those patients who may not fit in the regular 12-week program. To qualify for entry into the program, patients who are currently smokers are required to attend our smoking cessation classes prior to starting the program.
- Talk to your family doctor or lung specialist. They can refer you by contacting our office.
