Tuberculosis Clinic
Established in September 2000, Toronto Western Hospital’s Tuberculosis Clinic provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art tuberculosis care for Toronto’s multicultural communities. The clinic provides treatment for patients with Active TB Disease or Latent TB Infection and the multidisciplinary team addresses the many significant barriers to TB diagnosis and treatment, including language and cultural barriers, social stigma, poverty and homelessness.
Written referrals are welcomed from physicians, nurse practitioners and Public Health Departments.
Our services:
- Diagnosis, treatment and follow up of patients with Active TB Disease or Latent TB Infection
- Consultation service available for any health care provider managing complicated TB cases in the GTA
- Outreach and educational programs to improve the knowledge and awareness of TB in the community and health care settings
- Resources and multilingual education materials about TB and related issues
- A safe and patient-centred environment for tuberculosis treatment
Our team consists of of four Infectious Disease specialists, a Respirologist, a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Clinician, Public Health Nurse, Social Worker and Respiratory Therapists.
