What is the Office of Continuing Education and Knowledge Transfer?
The UHN Office of Continuing Education and Knowledge Transfer (CEKT) is the hospital's hub of continuing education events directed to health care professionals and health services professionals from around the world. The office facilitates the matching of eager learners with experts in specific fields and manages the marketing and event planning aspects, ensuring a professional impression from start to finish. UHN's CEKT offers a wide variety of models of education from traditional lecture style formats to intensive, focused, advanced skill, executive style programs. These new models of education often include a follow-up component either via video conferencing, web-based applications such as Communities of Practice, or simple email and list serve solutions. The programs are directed at a broad spectrum of health professionals from physicians, nurses, allied health professionals and clinical technicians to information specialists, researchers and professionals with interests in the health services such a patent lawyers, biotechnology investors and health care administrators. The events are offered in designated facilities and cover a broad range of topics from highly specialized clinical topics from our team of experts to research and health service themes.
